Another Happy Day

John B. Sheerin

Happiness is not in our circumstance but in ourselves. It is not something we see, like a rainbow, or feel, like the heat of a fire. Happiness is something we are.

Enjoying the Garden

The really happy person is one who can enjoy the scenery when on a detour.

Margaret Lee Runbeck
Happiness is not a station you arrive at, but a manner of traveling.

Let Your Garden Grow

Martha Washington

The greater part of our happiness or misery depends on our dispositions, and not on our circumstances.  We carry the seeds of the one or the other about with us in our minds wherever we go.

Wow So Quickly

When you commit to an action the blocks will come instantly. Wait are they ‘blocks’ or are they commitment builders.  Stay the course and the reward comes when you reach your goal.

Now Is The Time

Take the first step in faith. You don’t have to see the whole staircase, just take the first step. – Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.

Meeting the Challenge

The excursion is the same when you go looking for your sorrow as when you go looking for your joy.- Eudora Welty

Joy does not simply happen to us. We have to choose joy and keep choosing it every day.- Henri Nouwen

Taken from Wisdom

For many this is a week of remembering.  Many will choose the joy path and no longer choose the sorrow path.  Some may not even know they have a choice.  I know I have a choice and often my choice is to take the path of least resistance.  Oh to remember that God will see us through no matter the challenge.

Yet I continue to try to do it on my own.  I continue to ‘struggle’ instead of letting God carry me through.  A line from a hymn goes “…Oh for the peace of a perfect trust..”.  May it be so for all this day.

Oh My

You are a mass of grumbling emotions inside.  You know you are and you don’t like it.  You don’t like that a look, a word, a little action can be blown out of proportion in your mind and create unrest in your soul. Solution  Be patient God isn’t finished with you yet.

Month 7

What I have learned:  I don’t enjoy saying no no no no no -Solution  say yes to this and that that I like.

It is a drudge  Solution  have a can do attitude.  I believe the main thing is to respect and like my physical self enough to treat it well.

Week 1 is going well.  Swimming is consistent, low sugar is consistent (one day to indulge) I need to get a better grip on the carbs.  Success for week 1  hurray  hurray

Week2  Not too shabby.  I have to focus on no night eating this week.  Be diligent about it.  I haven’t really over eaten I just haven’t been as smart in eating as I could be.

Week 3 We have continued with the swimming 5-7 days a week.  The eating is not being reigned in like I need to to lose the next dress size.  Had a cleanse day with 2 sugar free days.

Week4  Change in the wind so I have been stuffing.  Will watch it today.  No night eating yesterday. Oh my this has got to change and I am the only  one who can do it.  Month 8 starts tomorrow.  As I review this month I can see a lot I did well.  The swimming still continues.  I am now working on my winter exercise program.  Keep the vision to succeed.

Maturity/Less Than Mature?? You Decide

The task is difficult and unpleasant. You decide to look at the best way to get it done as soon as possible or you decide you’ll think about it hoping the situation will resolve itself.

You’ve been asked to do something that isn’t your responsibility. You grumble and do it grudgingly, you realize that the sooner you do it the quicker you can do your own tasks, or you pretend you didn’t understand the request and ignore the task altogether.

You aren’t able to find work in your field of expertise. You sit home collect unemployment, complain about the government not making more jobs, celebrate when unemployment is extended and moan and groan about how awful life is.  OR  You make a list of what you are skilled at and put a dollar value on those skills, trust that doors will open, network with everyone you know, register on line for job notifications, trust doors will open and take anything that comes along until you get what you can live with.
