Get ‘Er Done

Nothing in life is certain except death and taxes     Benjamin Franklin   Remember:  If you had no income you would have no taxes.  It is best just to be grateful you can have a lifestyle in spite of our government.

I’m not so much interested in the return ON my money as I am in the return OF my money.
Will Rogers

All Righty Then

“Finish everyday and be done with it.  You have done what you could; some blunder and absurdities no doubt crept in;  forget them as soon as you can.  Tomorrow is a new day; you shall begin it serenely and with too high a spirit to be encumbered with your old nonsense.”   -RalphWaldoEmerson

Smile On Your Way

The only way to keep your health is to eat what you don’t want, drink what you don’t like, and do what you’d rather not. – Mark Twain

Son, employees are like mules. Some you stand in front of and coax them along with a carrot. Some you stand behind and kick them in the ass. The key to managemeant is knowing which mules are which.

It takes 8,460 bolts to assemble an automobile, and one nut to scatter it all over the road.

Life is for Real

In our 20’s we are busy discovering who we are without the ‘parents’ looking over our shoulders.  We are an ‘adult’  by law and we are creating the life we want.

In our 30’s we begin to know that the cycle just keeps going on and on and on and seek for things that are a bit more substantial.  We make life changing choices and mark a path that we will follow for many years.

In our 40’s we realize that it is a ‘grind’ to do the right thing, we do reap what we sow, and the light is there but the tunnel is longer than we thought.

In our 50’s we are either finishing up the path that was made from our choices 20 years ago or we have abandon that path and have another plan that we have implemented.

In our 60’s we reflect on the things that make today the life we have.  We evaluate and start implementing things that bring a contentment and satisfaction that accompanies a job well done.

It’s Complicated

Integrity-You can’t look around for it you have to look up to it.

I recently learned that some couples I have admired are walking away from their homes because they no longer want to pay the cost they contracted for.   They have the money they just don’t want to keep throwing it down the ‘pit of no value’.   These are people that would never think of themselves as crooks, robbers or cheats.  These are people that I thought I could trust with the treasures that last forever.

I want to be clear on what God expects from me and live in His integrity.

I will wear Highest Potential and Sacred Frankincense to remind of who I really am.

Reporting for Duty

The more things change the more they remain the same.  We must look for the wonder in the moment or else we only wonder ‘what was that’?

I believe I’ll use Stress Away and Peace and Calming today.

Just for You

Silly Putty was discovered as the residue left behind after the first latex condoms were produced. It’s not widely publicized for obvious reasons.

McDonald’s salads are more fattening than their burgers.    Not to worry Mrs. O will take care of that as soon as she gets back from her trip(s).

You’re more likely to die on your way to buy a lottery ticket than you are to actually win the lottery.  [The perfect excuse you can never use: I would have won the Mega Lotto but I died on the way to buy my ticket.]

Work From Facts

We know so little and yet we form strong opinions based on what we don’t know.  Life is more beautiful when we just accept that we will annoy people, we will enjoy people, we will avoid people and they will do the same towards us.

I am using the oils of Surrender, Release, and Acceptance to be more gentle with myself and others.

On the Other Hand

Oh how sad to be with someone 80+ that has very limited life experiences to draw from.  Things I must do so that I find myself  interesting  will also make me interesting to others.

The oil of  Gathering and Live With Passion keep me stimulated.

Worth a Repeat

We if fate so desires will reach old age.  I know only one person who in old age became softer than she was in youth.  The general rule is what you are now you will be that plus so much more in old age.  Go forth and create your legacy.

Old age, especially an honored old age, has so great authority, that this is of more value than all the pleasures of youth.    Marcus Tullius Cicero 106-43  B.C., Roman statesman, writer, lawyer and orator, murdered by Antonius

I have the privilege of knowing some wonderful 80 yr olds.  It isn’t easy to keep a sense of humor while your life becomes something you can’t control.  I admire these gracious, funny, active ladies.  All of them have a strong personal relationship with God and Jesus.  It can be said of them -‘A Life Well Lived”.
