Jessie Owens: Inspirational Humorous Quotes

If you are not going to play to win, you might as well hold the Olympics in someone’s backyard.

It’s helpful to remember that for every 1st place finish there are those that don’t place. It is a fact of life. Isn’t it nice to know that our best may not be good enough. I found this out recently. If I didn’t have a realistic view of my capabilities I would be suffering a battered ego.

Two jobs that I applied for didn’t pan out. The one job was seasonal, taxes. I paid to take the companies course and did very well. (They start the new people at $8.25!!) I stayed because, why not. The companies next step was to cut back office hours which means you have a lay-off. The new people go first. After that is implemented you are informed that if you want to work contact the main office. Let’s see-less hours for all the offices so when will we be called in to work?? Once again it is confirmed why I am self-employed.

The other job application was for census taking. I wasn’t hired. Some people that I know were hired and it is a lot of hassles.

I believe that I did my best in both instances and wasn’t suited for either job. The one I worked long enough to know it was a mismatch and the other I am not upset about at all. I know that when I play to win I will always have what I need for my next step.

Ahh the wonderful oils of Acceptance and Highest Potential keep me on this journey to forever.
